Self-supporting double cardan joints
Used on axles with independent suspensions.
These are much more complex products than the classic double universal joints because they don’t use traditional supports but allow the double cardan joint to self-support using a sphere coupled with a pin.
This type of double universal joint, in addition to performing normal steering, also has the follow-up task of the potential occurrence of wheels sinking.
Designing specific products to meet customer needs
Sorem produces double universal joints starting from the specific functional needs requested by the customer.
To fulfill this task Sorem uses specific design tools that range from the drawing of the mechanical/technical design of the component part, to the calculation of the finished elements (FEM), up to the creation of prototypes for testing on a specific test bench.
Mechanical machining
All the mechanical machining needed for the supply of our complete products (centering, turning, gearing, induction hardening, external and gear grinding, drilling/boring on transfer machines, assembly operations, etc.) is carried out in-house, both in the production of double joints and for special products.
